Dane has a new board short out from Quiksilver. Quik has been releasing these little vid shorts to go with the new … shorts. Dane can surf really, really well. Making music … well, maybe not so much. Was that supposed to be Japanese in the beginning? Toward the end it sounded like Spanish being spoken by a Japanese person.
The Wavegarden site is now live! Oh man … here’s some potential for good times. Who will be the first to throw one up in the US? I hope it’s someone I know.

Oh man! Why more wetsuit brands don’t have fun with their suits is beyond me? Think of the fun you could have cartwheeling down to the water while trading imaginary blows with evil aliens? I mean … sure … everyone would stop what they’re doing and unblinkingly stare at you for an uncomfortable amount of time … but it’s all in the name of fun! Well, fun and the defense of the planet from alien marauders that only you can see. On second thought, maybe do this at home in the privacy of your own yard.

I’m stoked to see this movie. Then again, I really liked Blue Crush and Surf’s Up. So, I’ve established I’m easily entertained. However, I think Bethany is friggen awesome. What a comeback she’s made. Kind of shits on the dudes claiming a comeback from a sport’s injury.
My friend Ian Walsh rides for Fox-Surf. Ian is bonkers crazy. He likes to ride waves that will smash you into fish food, and then, wash your pulverized remains into a shark’s mouth. He wears these shorts. These are man’s shorts. If you want to look like a man, wear these shorts…if you want to look like a woman, continue to wear your little sister’s jeans.
The first thing I liked about this vid was the use of The Naked & The Famous’ song Punching In A Dream. A good song can make you like a shit video. Now, I am not saying this 2010 season of hurricane surf vid is shit, but often times a good song can save a crap edit.
Surfing in the 70s must have been a lot like surfing at 5am every day in Encinitas. Not a lot of people around and friggen cold. I say cold because wetsuits must have sucked ass back then. At least there weren’t a bunch of douche-nozzles on soft tops creating a foam minefield to navigate every day.
