I guess it’s kind of weird to have a review of a regional specific movie premiere…but hell, 98% of the industry is in Orange County – so why not? Julian Wilson’s Quiksilver Movie Project is premiering in Huntington Beach, CA at the legendary US Open of Surfing. It’s free, but space is limited…kind of like Lindsy Lohan’s brain. God, I’m just killing it with Lohan jokes lately, huh?

Habitat skateboards is dropping their new video soon. I am personally excited to watch this, as it includes a few of my homies – Tim O’connor, Stefan Janoski & Danny Garcia. Oh…you’re all put-off since I’m name dropping? Your loss. Now, I won’t get you a signed pair of Danny Garcia’s underwear. Don’t ask me how I would bring up requesting Danny hand me over a pair of his drawers.

Taylor Steele has been showcasing the best surfing, since he re-invented what surf movies should be back in the Momentum days. Castles In The Sky is a magical journey with some of the best surf faces on the planet in some pretty exotic locals. My favorite is the Malloy/Reynolds part in frozen waters. How can you surf so well, while frozen solid?

Ventura, CA filmmaker, Josh Landan has put out some really great projects in the past few years. His new offering featuring Timmy Curran riding on a train up and down the California coast, while surfing with his bros is a nice departure from some of the “surf porn” that has been dominating the video scene lately. The movie has some great surfing by Timmy, a furry Malloy brother and the second coming of Jesus, Dane Reynolds. Pick one up.
