Don’t let the title of this book throw you off. It’s actually about this guy who throws himself into the sport of surfing and basically just blows it in the water his first couple times. Becoming so obsessed with surfing ( as most do ), he packs up, moves to the West Coast, travels around learning about the ocean and the sport he fell in love with.

Surfing in the 70s must have been a lot like surfing at 5am every day in Encinitas. Not a lot of people around and friggen cold. I say cold because wetsuits must have sucked ass back then. At least there weren’t a bunch of douche-nozzles on soft tops creating a foam minefield to navigate every day.
